
About Cheng-Chieh Chuang, MD
(“Chuang” pronounced as “strong” without the
“s”)
Dr. Chuang is board certified in Family
Practice. He graduated
from Brown University with honors, obtained his MD degree from Yale
University School of Medicine, and completed a Family Medicine
Residency Program at Brown.
He served the full tenure of five years as a Pisacano
Scholar, a scholarship from the American Board of Family Practice
annually awarded to up to 10 most outstanding medical students and
residents in the country.
Before founding Lakeside Family Practice, Dr.
Chuang practiced medicine for years as a traveling physician working
in underserved rural and urban areas in the United States.
For this work he holds medical licenses in 13 different
states. He also teaches
at Brown Medical School.
A physician with a strong background in
conventional medicine and a holistic approach to health, Dr. Chuang
is open to incorporating proven alternative therapies in his
practice. He strongly
believes in patient education, and welcomes and encourages all
patients to take active roles in their own health.
Before moving to the United States in 1985, Dr. Chuang lived in
Taiwan and Argentina.
He speaks Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, Spanish, and English.
In his spare time he enjoys his family and friends,
watercolor painting, gardening, as well as several indoor and
outdoor sports.
